Spey Valley Socks and Weird Things

Ahhh - back to normal life (whatever that is). Christmas knitting was appreciated by all....my family will have warm hands and feet this winter.
I finished the Spey Valley socks for Dave on Christmas eve....Here they are.

I followed the pattern exactly as written other than making the leg a bit shorter. I was originally making these for me, but Dave like them as I knit them and since the rib is so stretchy all I had to do was make the foot longer and they fit him just fine.

Pattern: Spey Valley by Nancy Bush from Knitting on the Road
Yarn: Paton's Kroy sock yarn in a heathered blue
Needles: 2 socks knit together on 2 circulars 2.25 mm

These are the Dec/Jan KOTR along socks and also get me in just under the wire for my December socks for SAM2....phew! I am a little fanatical about these KALs - can you tell?

I started this hat last night as a reward to myself after finishing the socks. (I have many knitting rules for myself to keep it from all getting out of control!) It is the Lusekofte Cap from Hat's On by Charlene Schurch - a GREAT book with so many hats that I want to make....I didn't know which to start first.

And lastly.....I thought I would get away without getting tagged for the "Weird" meme, but Rebecca got me. So for anyone interested.....(not required reading!)

Here you go.....
