Corrugated Ribbing

Bet I would win if we had a "most boring titles" contest!

I LOVE corrugated ribbing! Whenever I see a sweater, sock, glove....ANY pattern with corrugated rib, I want to make it - The prettiest ribbing in the knitting world! BUT I do not enjoy knitting it. There is absolutely no flow to the knitting - It's like I have 2 left hands or I'm trying to pat my head and rub my tummy at the same time...I feel awkward, incompetent and VERY slow - NO rhythm to it at all.

12 rows on a pair of socks and I'm done! I can't imagine doing a whole sweater's worth of corrugated ribbing! Does anyone have a secret? Is there something I should be aware of that makes the process smooth and natural?

Florenz

About these socks... I've wanted to make Florenz (Ravelry link) since the pattern came out for the Socken-Kreativ-Liste July 2007 socks. I printed it off immediately and picked my yarn out, but have not had a chance to start them until now. They are beautifully designed by Stephanie van der Linden . After making my way through the ribbing, I began the slip stitch pattern and immediately got confused. The directions for rows 3 and 13 are wrong (at least in the English version). I didn't trust myself on this, so I emailed Punkin, who had recently completed hers - she concurred - the directions for rows 3 and 13 should read YO and slip 3 stitches with yarn in FRONT. I'm now on my way....
