Pat's Knitting and Quilting
August 29, 2012 I won a gorgeous skein of yarn in a monthly mini drawing in the Fiber Indie Experience Co-op. ( A great group of indie fiber artists!) This yarn was dyed by Kim from The Wacky Windmill - gorgeous fall colors on thick luscious 1 ply heavy worsted weight yarn - perfect for mittens! I've never made thrummed mittens, but have always been very interested every time I see a pair - this seemed like a good time to try it. Pattern: Snug by Robin Melanson from Knitting New Mittens and Gloves Now THESE are some very warm mittens! The cuff is thick, snug and warm too... Next time I would be even more generous with the thrums either making them thicker or just adding more of them, but I sure do like these mitts and can't wait to see how warm they are this winter! If you have comments or questions or want to contact me for any reason, just email or contact me on Ravelry. Thanks :) |
