Handspun Mondo Cable Pulli

My new favorite sweater! I just love Chic Knits patterns and this is one I've been wanting to knit for several years.

Mondo Cable Pulli

Pattern: Mondo Cable Pulli designed by Bonnie Marie Burns
Size: chest 35"; length 21"
Yarn: 13.4 ounces (only 685 yards!) regular 3 ply Handspun JulieSpins 50/50 Superfine Merino/Tencel in Shade Garden Colorway
Needles: US#8 - main sweater; US #7 - neckband/ribbing
Mods: 3/4 length sleeves; waist shaping

Knit in one piece from the top down - easy as can be. I love how the neck edging turns into the beautiful front cable. I opted out of the trapeze shaping and did my own regular waist shaping. I can tell that I will wear this sweater all the time!

From these 2 beautiful Julie Spins handpainted braids (13.4 ounces total) of Superfine Merino Tencel (50/50) -(softest fiber ever - feels like heaven next to my bare skin!) I spun 690 yards of 3 ply worsted weight yarn. I tried to muddy it up as much as possible and am so happy with the final yarn.

I was well aware that I was cutting it VERY closely trying to get this sweater from only 690 yards of yarn - but with ongoing calculations, I could see part way through that I would make it.

Here is a close up of the neck edging morphing into the big front cable

I didn't even block this because I didn't want the cable to flatten out - these pictures are straight off the needles. Here are a few pictures that show the handspun texture a bit better.

Can't get better than a soft beautiful handspun sweater - I bet I will eventually wear this one out :)
