Knotty Gloves

In 50 years of knitting, I have never made gloves...until now. I somehow thought I would hate knitting fingers and rationalized that they wouldn't be nearly as warm as mittens in which fingers are all together warming each other up. Well I didn't love knitting fingers, but it wasn't all that bad. I knit them 2 at a time (right and left glove - right and left fingers) so would just do 2 fingers each evening and in 5 days all digits done! There is a little more finish work of course, but again, not that bad - I wove in ends and closed up between fingers in about 1/2 hour. I think I will wear these all the time - they literally "fit like a glove" :)

Knotty Gloves

I started knitting these in September 2010 - and stopped at the fingers. Feels so good to complete these beautiful soft and very wearable gloves.

Pattern: Knotty by Julia Mueller Laris
Yarn: 2.6 ounces (76 grams) Spirit Trail Fiberworks "Frija" in dyelot FRJ 09-03-01 (SW merino, cashmere, nylon) - I bought this yarn for socks, but there was no way I was wasting the incredible softness on my feet - I knew I wanted to slide my hands into this wonderfulness - I have enough left to line a hat or mittens too!
Needles: 2 gloves on 1 2.25 mm (US 1) 40" circular.
Size: Woman's Medium - 11 1/4" from cuff to tip of middle finger, 8 1/2" circumference
Mods: none - well written pattern with clear charts - knit exactly as written.

Knotty Gloves

I can't wait for a crisp fall day!
