Fibonacci Socks

Fibonacci Socks

My plan is to knit all the socks in Op-Art Socks from beginning to end along with many others in the Op-Art KAL on Ravelry. The optical art patterns satisfy something in my nature - I love the geometric shapes as well as the illusion of movement - there are patterns that would be great for men too, which is always a plus for my heavily male household. BUT the 1st pair is for me :)

Fibonacci for January - LOVE these socks! I used 2 colors of KP Chroma which played off of each other beautifully.

All selfie sock pictures - trying to keep the chickens away at the same time - what a show! In the above pictures they kept pecking at the self timer camera sitting on 2X4s.

Pattern: Fibonacci by Stephanie van der Linden from Op-Art Socks
Yarn: 2.9 ounces (84 grams) Knit Picks Chroma in Midwinter and Smoothie - I'm a little bummed that I didn't make it to the pink colors in Smoothie. The good news is there is enough for another pair of socks.
Needles: 2.25 mm 40" circular
Size: 72 stitches around - woman's size 7 1/2 - for ME
Mods: I left out 1 repeat on the leg -would have been way too tall and did a regular toe after her initial decrease row to 64 stitches.

Love these with jeans - they will be heavily worn so we will soon see how Chroma holds up. It is only a 1 ply, but has nylon in it which I'm hoping will make it durable. Definitely has a soft fluffy feel to it and a nice fuzzy halo.
