I LOVED this quilt from the moment I saw it in Katharine Guerrier's Book "Scrap Quilt Sensation". I used hundreds of scraps - some dating back to the 1980s. The oldest ugliest scraps give it such character - and the bright teeny triangles keep the eyes moving across the whole quilt.
Started out with lots and lots of triangles - I wanted to have a huge variety, but still keep the quilt lap size, so I made each unit 2" instead of 3" - the smaller half square triangles are only 1" square.
Pieced 1568 of these into 2" half square triangles and 896 into 1" half square triangles!

A close up
With a quilt this scrappy, I knew I would piece the back too - all my dull blues :)
A winner for sure :)
