Pat's Knitting and Quilting

Mitten Break....almost

For all those getting sick of mittens ....here are my current socks in progress. They are the Spey Valley socks from Knitting on the Road ( the Dec/Jan sock for the KOTR along). I am using Patons Kroy sock yarn in a lovely heathered blue....very wearable with jeans! The cuff is complete and is quite pretty with the vikkel braid outlining the pattern. This is a sock I probably would have overlooked if it were not for the KAL - I'm glad I didn't miss it!

Spey Valley cuffs
our first dusting of snow!

Do you remember these?
Well they have become these!
They got a little fiddly for Cam and I helped around the thumb. then it got cold and he wanted them DONE so I finished off the top...it was a joint effort!

After Christmas projects .....

I just saw this sweater here and knew I wanted to make it...so simple yet special with the pretty cable waist. I ordered the book at Amazon (in the used and new section)for $4.52 - worth it for this one pattern alone!

Lastly, does anyone want this yarn??? Warning it is quite an unusual color. A wonderful fiber...laceweight merino from Morehouse Farm, but man is the color just awful....nothing like the color I thought I ordered! I immediately knew I didn't want to make a scarf from it so I thought I would double it and make socks or quadruple it and make mittens, but I just don't want to knit with it at all....it must be an actual aversion to the color. I wound it into a ball hoping I would like it better than the skein, but NO! So if you want it just leave me a comment and I will send it to you for a Christmas present! I won't be offended if no one wants it....but maybe, just maybe there is someone out there who would just love this color.
It is a triple skein - 3 oz. - approx. 660 yards .

12/11......The yarn is Aimee's - Merry Christmas!!!
